Akin Adamson is the Middle East Director for Ricardo Energy and Environment - a global strategic engineering and environmental consultancy with offices across the GCC. Ricardo E&E advises public and private sector organisations on Air Quality, Energy, Water, Waste and Climate Change strategies, technologies and operations.

Previously, he was the CEO of BPC Plus, a cyber security consultancy and was TRL’s (the UK’s Transport Research Laboratory’s) Regional Director for the Middle East. Before that, he was a Global Head of Consulting at Nokia Siemens Networks and a Director at Telstra in Australia. He began his consulting career at A.T. Kearney in the UK and Australia, focusing on the Telco, Transportation and Automotive sectors.

He began his research career at London Business School in the Energy Sector and has lectured at both London Business School and the London School of Economics. He holds both UK and Australian citizenship and travels extensively throughout the Middle East region. He was educated at LSE, LBS and the University of Michigan, USA.

Hoda A.Alkhzaimi is currently a research assistant professor in New York University and the Director of Center of Cyber Security in NewYork University AD. She served in different posts for research and development in Cyber Security and Cryptology for the past years. She headed the Department of Research and Development for Cyber Security and Cryptology in different national initiatives in the United Arab Emirates along with her associations to different security initiatives nationally and internationally.  

Alkhzaimi has a specific expertise in cryptology; cryptanalysis, constructing and validating security hardware and software components, constructing trusted security architectures for different environments in different products for the respective industries. Hoda.Alkhzaimi obtained her PhD in Cryptanalysis from Denmark Technical University. Her current research interests include Space, Aerospace, and UAV security, constructing and analyzing cryptographic primitives, validating and investigating links between different cryptanalytic approaches and utilizing cryptographic primitives in different cybersecurity architectures as in Internet of Things and big data analysis among others.

Khalaf Khalaf is the Director of Standards Department at Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).

Khalaf has a B.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering (UAE University) and MBA from University of Hull.

He has over 24 years’ experience, he enjoyed variety of Management positions as he worked for Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) during the period 2007-2015 as Deputy Director of Development and Corporate Performance & Organization Development Manager. In addition to his experience in the fields as Petroleum Engineer at early of his career in 1995, then as Planning and Quality Manager in Abu Dhabi Onshore Oil Operations Company (ADCO). He has also variety of Engineering experience in Oil and Gas industry including Field Development and management.

He is specialized in strategy and planning, Business process development and Reengineering, performance improvement and project management.

During the past 9 years, he was involved in many development initiatives as driving forces such as Business Process Management (BPM), Service Level Framework & Knowledge management.

Khalaf has made huge contributions towards RTA advancement in Quality & Excellence that demonstrated in the tremendous improvement of RTA ranking among governmental departments in Dubai Government Program for Excellence (DGPE) and the number of awards RTA won since then.   

Khalaf joined Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) in November 2016 as Director of Standards Department responsible for driving standards and technical regulations development across serval disciplines on national and regional level.

Khalaf is a Member in GSO Steering Committee for Standards and Chair of GSO Technical Committee for Chemical and Textile Products since 2016.

Dr. Manzoor Ahmed Khan

Manzoor Ahmed Khan is Assistant Professor at Computer and Network Engineering department. He served at different positions at Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He served as Research Director of Distribution Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at TU Berlin guiding six different competence centers with 60+ full time researchers. He also led the research group of future communications network that focused on implanting intelligence in different generations of mobile networks. Amongst others, he was the technical lead of Germany’s flagship research projects towards autonomous driving, Diginet-PS, trial site leader for EU project 5G-MOBIX, and country coordinator for large scale Celtic 5G eHealth project. His main research interests include: Autonomous driving, 5G mobile networks, IoT, and different smart city application domains. He has been active in introducing learning approaches to the aforementioned domains. He has also been involved in development of large scale demonstrators. He was the recipient of several best paper awards, best performance, gold medals, and appreciation certificates. Dr. Khan is the author of several scientific publications including conference papers, journal articles, and book chapters. He completed his Habilitation degree in 2017 and received Ph.D. degree (with Distinction) in Computer Science from TU Berlin in 2011.

Martin Tillman is Director at international engineering consultancy Aecom leading Strategic Planning and Advisory for the UAE and Oman. He leads the disciplines of transport modelling, planning, transport technology, road safety, parking and freight. Martin has been based in the UAE for ten years, beginning with the management of the policy and planning work on the Abu Dhabi Surface Transport Master Plan for the Department of Transport. Previously, Martin has lived and worked in the UK, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, and Qatar. He is currently working on transit master planning projects as well as providing transport input to Emirate and city wide master planning projects. Martin enjoys the challenge of providing innovative and value added advice for clients and consulting with stakeholders. His key aims are to encourage sustainability, future proof concepts through appropriate measures, and to create truly connected and liveable communities. Martin is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and the Institute of Highways and Transportation.
